James Douglas Reid III, MD, FACS

Dr. Reid was educated at the undergraduate level with a BA in Biology from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA.  He went on to medical school at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, VA on a Health Professions Scholarship Program scholarship through the U. S. Army.  After receiving his Medical Doctor degree he did a categorical surgical internship at William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, TX.  He followed with a General Surgical Residency at the same location.  Since leaving the Military in 1998 he has been in private practice in Greenville, SC.
 
Dr. Reid has recieved additional training in laparoscopic ventral hernia repair from Carolina Medical Centers in Charlotte, NC and St. Peters Hospital in New Jersey.  He has also received additional training in Stereotactic Core Biopsy of the breast and Sentinal Node Biopsy.
 
When not working, Dr. Reid enjoys time with his wife and three children.  Other activities he enjoys include reading, movies, golf, tennis and home improvement.
